As we know, 1+1=2. But if we talk about synergy
between people, buildings, systems in public space and generally in
architecture, the equation turns into 1+1=2+. This means, something
better and stronger than the simple addition of the whole of the components. There are the flows that unite the components, but they
also offer the possibility to transform them. So, we are talking about a system
that depends on the influences of the flows where the components adapt in each
occurring situation and at any time. In an urban system, the components turn to
be the vessels which contain and fulfill the human desires. These
elements create spaces, shifting spaces, where one’s desire ends where the
other’s begins. We are actually talking about desires and
how they can be translated into spaces, the human, the inhabiting, the
collective and the gathering space. In the end, humans are those who define
space.
Bearing all that in mind, we are introducing a
system with shifting panels that can adapt to the desires of any human at any
given point in time. These panels are moving on a grid of
“rails” that holds the panels together and offers the maximum capabilities in
shifting the space. Different qualities of space are being created each time
something moves to another place, or rotates or even disappears. But also the
grid is treated differently depending on the general idea that defines the
space we wish.
It’s all about adaptability in space and fulfillment
of human desires, actually.
